From a small team with a big vision to an established player in the battery industry –
Smart Battery Solutions celebrates 15 years of innovation and growth.

In 2010, Timo Hasenöhrl and Christian Schreiber laid the foundation for what is now the SBS Campus and headquarters of Smart Battery Solutions GmbH by founding SBS in Kleinostheim near Frankfurt am Main. Shortly thereafter, Christopher Fecher and Christian Lieb joined the management team.
What began as an idea quickly evolved into a company with its own production and customers far beyond the borders of Bavaria. Today, SBS employs around 85 people and is firmly established in the battery industry. 😊

As a strong partner for battery development, battery manufacturing, and battery services in Germany, we provide the entire product life cycle of lithium-ion batteries for a wide range of applications and industries. Our portfolio of UniPower, UniPower CUBE and custom lithium-ion batteries is perfectly complemented by our Smart Connector as a communication interface within the Smart Cluster System.

What began with batteries for specialized small-series applications has evolved rapidly:
Today, our battery solutions power warehouse robotics, agricultural robotics, industrial drones, rehabilitation technology, micro-mobility, e-bikes, e-scooters, e-cargo vehicles, and e-watercraft.

With the construction of our new administration building, we have strategically expanded our site and created space for further growth. Short distances between departments ensure efficient collaboration. New office buildings, a modern production hall, and several warehouses reflect the remarkable development of SBS.

Since expanding the management team with CFO Anita Davisson in autumn 2023, our leadership trio has been looking clearly ahead. Together, we remain innovative and solution-oriented as we help shape the battery industry of tomorrow.
